Android One expands to Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka

Back in September, we launched Android One in India—an initiative to make high-quality smartphones accessible to as many people as possible. In the last few months, the devices have been rolling out for sale online and in stores to Indians in cities big and small. And last week, our partner Spice launched another Android One phone—one made specifically for Hindi speakers.
Now we’re taking another step toward reaching the next five billion people: in the coming weeks, the Android One devices will start to go on sale in India’s neighboring countries of Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

In these countries — with a combined population of over 200 million people — a wide range of manufacturers and network partners such as Banglalink will begin to sell Android One smartphones. In addition to Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, Bangladesh’s own Symphony will launch their first Android One phone with the Symphony Roar A50. All these devices will give people a high quality mobile experience for an affordable price, running stock-Android with updates from Google.

With more hardware and carriers launching Android One phones in more countries, we’re excited to see the diverse array of devices our partners will offer in 2015 and beyond.

  17. Developers of these countries need to sell their local android apps. Apps are the heart of android, right? So better start supporting payments, wallet, local bank transfer/transaction.

  20. I'm tremendously disappointed that Google has reneged on its promise to update Android One devices within 2 weeks of a new OS release as specified here: https://support.google.com/android-one/answer/6081779?hl=en&ref_topic=6081772

To quote: "Android One devices receive the latest version of Android directly from Google. When a new update is released, it can take up to two weeks to reach your device."

Instead of that, it's been MONTHS since Lollipop is out and my Android One device is still running KitKat. What the hell. Despite being a Google fan (obviously), I really think someone should take them to court over false advertising. Immediate updates were the ONLY reason I bought an Android One device and now I know that I should have purchased a Moto phone instead.

Not cool Google - you can't let your OWN devices lag behind others when they already have standardized, certified hardware as specified by you!

  21. In depth analysis of new smartphone for sale can be an enriching experience. Remarkably new smartphone for sale is heralded by shopkeepers and investment bankers alike, leading many to state that there are just not enough blues songs written about new smartphone for sale. Crossing many cultural barriers it still draws remarks such as 'I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole' and 'I’d rather eat wasps' from global commercial enterprises, who form the last great hope for our civilization. With the primary aim of demonstrating my considerable intellect I will now demonstrate the complexity of the many faceted issue that is new smartphone for sale.
